Zangetsu is standing alone in a corroded world filled with dense dark aura. Ichigo just sees a moon in the background in a empty world as if its a different inner world than he knew.
Zangetsu: Are you surprised?
Ichigo finally saw the old man was different. His eye colour was white as the shining moon that made a contrast with the black cloth and there was something scary about him. Ichigo felt if he made a slight move Zangetsu might rip open his soul.
Ichigo: Old Man
Zangetsu: Why have you come to your Real world Ichigo. Are you not content with the world you had before?
Ichigo: (Looking around) this can't be my inner world even if it was creepy before it looked far better THIS. This is to isolated and lonely and not to mention even more creepy.
Zangetsu was at Ichigo face now and the distance between seemed to have disappeared.
Zangetsu: Really? Can't you really see your true self? Are you that blinded by your own illusion?
(In real time Ichigo gets a cut outside not because Zangetsu attacked him but due to Ichigo is unable to answer the question)
Zangetsu: So why have you come here?
Ichigo: I have come to learn the true nature of Final GT. I need that information.
Zangetsu: Oh! You mean this (holding out his hand)?
But Ichigo can't see what’s Zangetsu is holding. Again Ichigo gets a cut outside because Ichigo is unable to answer the question.
Zangetsu: Just so you know your outside body take a penalty for your own denial. This is a world which doesn't forgive ignorance.
The distance between Ichigo and Zangetsu become wide again as if by magic. Ichigo was again left in shock.
Ichigo: Old Man! Your going to tell me the truth even if I have to force it out from you.
Ichigo attacks but Zangetsu flicks the attack away. Then fires a black GT which seems to dissipate once it hits Zangetsu.
Zangetsu: Do you call that a Bankai? But Ichigo can you handle one of my own attack?
Zangetsu attacks lazily (but to Ichigo it seemed insane lightning speed) as Zangetsu closes the distance on Ichigo. Ichigo tries to block (what Ichigo thinks is an attack) but his zanpakutÅ gets broken to Ichigo's horror and Ichigo and his chest is heavily wounded. Ichigo can barely see what Zangetsu's weapon is yet he couldn't imagine what it could be.
Outside, Isshin is worried for Ichigo as zanpakutÅ in Ichigo's lap gets shattered and Ichigo starts bleeding.
